The Chemistry Library is launching a new service to loan virtual reality (VR) headsets for use in chemistry research and coursework! Our two Meta Oculus Quest 2 headsets are configured for use with the Nanome software program for molecular visualization and design.
To borrow a VR headset:
- Reserve the headset for up to 3 hours during our opening hours (UTORid required, subject to staff approval). Please make sure to review our loan policies before borrowing the headsets.
- Reserve a library study room for the same period, as devices must be used in a library study room. Your VR headset booking will be approved once it is confirmed that a concurrent study room booking has been made. You can manage / cancel your booking if needed using the link in the confirmation email.
- First-time users must complete the Terms of Use Agreement in advance of their reservation.
- At the time of your booking, visit our library service desk with your TCard to borrow the headset.
