Self-directed: Reflection for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation In

Date
Time -

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, September 30th, people across Canada recognize and raise awareness about the history and legacies of the residential school system in Canada. In 2021, the Canadian government designated this day to be the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

In this self-directed hour you will be sent a calendar invite*, so you can create some time in your day for reflections on the origins of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, or to learn by starting (or continuing) to read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s six-volume report or any meaningful activity of your choice.

*Please note, this event is entirely self-directed, the calendar invite serves the purpose of ensuring time in your day is reserved for your own individual reflection or learning. You will also receive a reminder email with some resources you may choose to use as starting points for your learning.
